McNamara Reserve football oval lighting upgrade
Alpine Shire Council, in conjunction with Sport and Recreation Victoria undertook a project that focused on strengthening community with the aid of the Country Football and Netball Program.
The completion of this project in 2017 ensured that lighting upgrades to the football oval, as well as netball and tennis courts, met AFL amateur level and class 2 netball competition standards. As project managers North x North East facilitated the procurement of consultant and construction services relevant to the project.
McNamara Reserve netball and tennis facilities
Participation in sporting activities at the McNamara Reserve is increasing and the existing capacity and condition of the tennis and netball amenities block does not meet user group requirements or standards. Consequently, the Alpine Shire Council has worked with the Myrtleford Netball Club and the Reserve Committee of Management to develop options for upgrading the Tennis/Netball facilities recognising the needs of the different user groups.
North x North East was engaged as a project managers to facilitate the design and construction of the new facilities. Stakeholder engagement was key to this project to ensure that the needs of all user groups were met.
Myrtleford Indoor Sports Stadium expansion
In 2016 Alpine Shire Council and the Myrtleford Indoor Sports Stadium Committee of Management along with other stadium user groups, completed a feasibility study into building an extension on the existing stadium to accommodate the increased sporting requirements of the stadium.
In 2017 North x North East was awarded the role as project manager for the design and construction of the 900 square metre extension to the existing Myrtleford Indoor sports Stadium
Working with Alpine Shire Council, Myrtleford Reserve Committee, Myrtleford Indoor Stadium Committee and other stakeholders North x North East are responsible for the delivery of the new 900 square meter stadium. As projects managers for this new development North x North East’s role includes all elements of consultant and contractor procurement, design management and construction administration. The project is due for completion in July 2019.
